Cazz’s Catchup

I’m very behind in my blogging, having written nothing for over six months, but it’s not that I’ve been too busy or too lazy – hmmn, maybe a bit of the latter, just haven’t got around to it. Perhaps I feel I haven’t enough exciting news or information to impart. Let’s see.

Got an offer of a new car if I kept my payments going for another three years, so am now running around in a nice shiny red one. I love it. New cars every so often have been my luxury and probably the reason why I am just solvent and not well off. I know they are a complete waste of money, but I feel secure about doing long distances and love the feeling of having something new nobody’s used before me.

I feel even better with my sat nav. Although they are flawed and you still have to rely on good old maps, I like the way you can keep your eye on it and the road as it lets you know the next junction or turn. Even though I’ve ended up in the wrong place, I’m never far from where I should be. Ain’t technology grand!

Anyway, moving on, I’ve been up and down to Skye, but we’ve all been there in previous posts.
I was at a 60th party and of course, staying next to the lovely garden at An Acarsaid, which is probably in its last season of being open to the public. Take the opportunity to see it, you won’t be disappointed.

I also had my usual week on Raasay and our usual good weather. All in all, I’ve been very lucky with lovely weather on my visits to these highland areas this year.

The big project this year is to get my garden redesigned and have had plans drawn up for a Japanese style revamp. A friend and I have cleared a great deal of the old plantings and bricks and stones and decking to get the work started.
